Jeff started his culinary career early; he comes from a family of foodies. In his teens his uncle and father taught him how to make homemade charcuterie and wine. In his early twenties he became a formidable pit man, curing hams, and smoking fish. Cooking is in his blood; even in graduate school, Jeff couldn’t stay away from the food industry, and he worked through school in kitchens in the Bay Area and Sacramento.Jeff has submitted recipes and text to five cookbooks and done freelance recipe development for several other publications. He started his career at Nugget in 2006 and has since opened three new stores. He has worked as the Corporate Chef for almost a year now, and was an integral part in developing and launching Nugget’s Recipe Archive. His food philosophy is simple: use the best ingredients, and do very little to them, so their natural flavors can shine. Techniques should only be used to enhance an ingredient’s flavor not for the sake of showcasing technique.
