Come springtime, Terra Firma Farm’s bunched beets will make their way into our stores. Located just up the road in Winters, California, Terra Firma Farm is right at home in this community where farming has played a major role for more than 100 years. The local farms in Winters are fortunate to have Lake Berryessa as a clean, reliable and sustainable resource to irrigate crops, and Terra Firma Farm is taking full advantage. They employ year–round, full–time employees to grow, harvest, pack and ship organically grown produce all throughout Northern California, including their delicious beets. Beets have started becoming quite popular among the juicing community, but we also love them in salads—especially when used in our recipe for a wonderful springtime salad with pears and goat cheese.
