Michael boasts expert knowledge in both areas, because before coming to Nugget Market, he spent 17 years working as a chef. After becoming involved with winemaker dinners and selecting wines for his restaurant's wine list, Michael made the transition to wine steward. He is a Certified Wine Educator and is currently working on completing his certification as a Master Sommelier. Michael has also traveled extensively to the world's major food-and-wine regions, including the Rioja region in Spain, the Douro region in Portugal, and Bordeaux and the Loire Valley in France.
