Community Giving Programs

Nugget Markets has been a part of the Northern California community since 1926. We want to be good neighbors, so we try to give back when we can through our community giving programs.

Nugget Market/Food 4 Less Scrip Program

The Nugget Market/Food 4 Less Scrip Program is one of the highlights of our community-giving commitment. Ever since the doors of the very first Nugget Market opened 82 years ago, Nugget Market and Food 4 Less have been thrilled to join with our local communities, schools, and neighborhood organizations in support of our kids and families.

The Nugget Market/Food 4 Less Difference:

  • The Nugget Market/Food 4 Less Scrip Program donates a full 3% to the beneficiary with NO cap.
  • There’s NO up-front fee or administration fee.
  • We provide a monthly accounting along with the donation check.

Scrip cards for our individual guests:

While shopping at Nugget Market or Food 4 Less, our guests have the opportunity to donate 3% of their total purchases to non-profit organizations of their choice. With this paperless program, our guests can select up to four non-profit beneficiaries. Each scrip card can be loaded and reloaded with a specified dollar amount, using funds from any payment source (ATM, credit card, check, and cash). The loaded card then functions like an ATM card at our check stands. Every month, 3% of the total amount loaded on the card will be donated to the beneficiary organization(s). For multiple beneficiaries, the donation total will be divided equally among each organization.

Scrip cards for non-profit organizations:

We invite all non-profit organizations to pick up a batch of scrip cards (cards will be loaded at a later date by each card-holding member) for distribution to all members of the organization. Every month, 3% of the amount loaded on each card will be donated to the chosen non-profit(s).

To get started in our scrip program, please contact your local Nugget Market or Food 4 Less and ask to speak to the store director. He/She would be delighted to meet you personally and get you and your organization(s) signed up immediately.

Donations & Sponsorships

If your organization would like to request a donation from Nugget Market, we are happy to consider your request. Please plan ahead: all small donation requests must be submitted at least two weeks in advance, and larger donation and sponsorship requests must be submitted at least four weeks ahead of time.

How do I make a donation request?

To request a donation, you must:

  1. Download and complete the donation request form.
  2. Deliver the donation request form, along with a letter describing your organization, to the store director at your local Nugget Market location.

How do I request a sponsorship?

There are two ways to request a sponsorship. You can either:

  1. Download the application.
  2. Submit the application via email to community.giving@

Nugget Market Store Tours – They’re SO
Much Fun!

We love connecting with local families, kids, schools, and children’s organizations. The Nugget Market store tour is our favorite way of giving kids (and adults!) a fun look at what goes on “behind the scenes” at Nugget. While traveling the store with your Nugget tour guide, your group will visit each department where kids can see how we make our pizzas, our breads, and our hand-crafted sausages, just to name a few stops. Expect some special surprises, too! Our tours are educational, entertaining, interactive, and free of charge.
