Nugget Markets’ 22nd Bag Off was a huge success! Every one of our stores from Sacramento Valley to Marin County brought their A-game at this year’s UBC-themed competition to find the Ultimate Bagging Champion. Of all the skilled baggers to compete, Clayton C. from our Vacaville store, Shelby G. (El Dorado Hills), Yasmin R. (West Sacramento) and Elsa I. (Davis on Mace Blvd.) pulled out all the stops to become UBC finalists. At the end of the night, Clayton C. took home the champion belt!
Every participant and guest showed amazing spirit and support for our awesome baggers. Our West Sacramento store pushed the limits and took home the coveted Spirit Award! Clayton will go on to represent Nugget Markets at the National Best Bagger competition in Las Vegas on February 29th. Wish us luck!
How time flies! Nugget Markets opened the doors to our very first store 89 years ago today, and we’re still going strong! It’s been an honor serving the Sacramento Valley for all these years, and we’re thrilled to now be serving Marin County, as well. Thank you to all our guests and associates for making such a legacy possible. Here’s to our next 89 years and beyond!
At Nugget Markets, sustainability matters! During 2014 we diverted 4.8 million pounds of recyclables and reduced water consumption by more than 75%. This year we’re upping the ante. Our sustainability coordinator tells all in this video.
While we’re all hoping that a strong “El Niño” winter will help end the current drought situation, in the heat of the summer it’s more important than ever that we all do our part to reduce our water use. We thought we should share with our guests some of the ways Nugget Markets has taken on the challenge of reducing our water consumption to conserve this precious resource.
If you love cheese tips from our cheese mongers, don’t miss out on the cheese tips Reed Pattison, specialty cheese manager at our El Dorado Hills Nugget Markets, shared with Good Day Sacramento earlier this week! Reed shared tips from our cheese bar that will help you make the perfect gourmet burger for Dad this Father’s Day!
Our very own Don Ashton, wine steward and corporate mixologist, joined Fox 40 this morning to share simple and refreshing cocktails that we can suprise Dad with this Father's Day. Our favorite is his rendition of the classic Mai Tai, the Quasi Mai Tai!
Paradise Foods in Marin County is becoming Nugget Markets, and we couldn’t be more excited for the opportunity to provide Marin County with an extraordinary grocery experience!
All three Marin County stores are open and operating under the leadership of Nugget Markets. Store hours will remain 7am-9pm, Monday-Sunday.
We welcome the Marin community to come visit our stores in Corte Madera, Novato and Tiburon, and thank you for excusing our mess as we transition the stores to Nugget Markets.
May is Bike Month is a regional campaign that focuses on replacing car miles with bike miles. Nugget Market is a strong supporter of May is Bike Month and we encourage our associates to use their bikes to commute, run errands, for recreation and for fitness. In 2014, we pledged more than 15,000 miles and we hope to pledge 20,000 in 2015.
Gather your friends, family and co-workers, and join the movement! Visit http://www.mayisbikemonth.com to create a team and being logging your miles!
It’s our 10th year on FORTUNE Magazine’s national listing of the “100 Best Companies to Work For,” thanks to our amazing associates’ passion and commitment to providing outstanding service and to creating a fun, unique work environment.
