Make your own veggie patty using fresh produce!
- 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
- 3 portabella mushrooms, gills removed, small diced
- ¼ cup yellow onion, small diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- ¼ teaspoon black pepper
- 2 tablespoons tapioca flour
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon water
- ½ cup rice flour
Heat vegetable oil in a sauté pan. Add the mushrooms, onion and garlic and sauté until no liquid remains. Add pepper and tapioca flour and stir to combine. Mix soy sauce and water and add to the pan.
Once thickened, press mushroom mixture into 3½-inch ring molds, sprinkle the top with 2 tablespoons rice flour and chill for 1 hour. After chilling, remove patties from molds, carefully flip over and dust other side with rice flour.
Sauté in vegetable oil in a nonstick pan over medium heat for 2 minutes on each side or until golden brown. Serve with your favorite burger toppings.
