Made with Fresh To Market sausage, these mini corn dogs are hand-dipped, deep-fried balls of goodness!
- 1 pound Fresh To Market Sausage, uncased and rolled into 1-ounce balls
- 1 cup cornstarch
- 3 tablespoons corn flour
- 2 teaspoons mustard powder
- 3 eggs, beaten
- 2 tablespoons water, plus more as needed for moisture
- 16 bamboo picks
- Vegetable oil for frying
- Mustard for dipping
Bring 1 quart of water to a boil. Carefully immerse sausage balls into boiling water with a ladle, reduce to a simmer and cook sausage balls for 3-4 minutes. Remove pot from heat and drain sausage balls.
Mix cornstarch, corn flour, mustard powder, eggs and water in a medium bowl until well combined. Dunk sausage balls into batter and cover sausage well. Deep-fry batter-covered sausage for 3-4 minutes, or until golden brown.
Serve immediately with mustard for dipping.
